Warner Bros. may be going a similar route with Wonder Woman compared to what Marvel did with Captain America: The First Avenger.
It's being rumored that the upcoming Wonder Woman movie set for a 2017 release will be featured in the past -- in the 1920s.
According to Avatar Press' Bleeding Cool, they have been informed by people who have seen the Wonder Woman movie treatment that the film will spend "the first half on Paradise Island with warring Amazon factions vying for control."
It's said the arrival of a man on the island changes that status quo as he asks the Amazons for help. It's also noted the man may not necessarily be Steve Trevor.
It's then said when Wonder Woman joins the man on his return to the regular world (i.e. world of man), it's in the 1920s, with the Wonder Woman moving showing the character of Diana exploring that world where woman have only just been given the right to vote, etc.
Details for further Wonder Woman movies are also mentioned with a sequel taking place during WWII in the 1930s and 1940s.
Finally, a third movie would take place in the modern day with Wonder Woman in the Justice League.
Gal Gadot is playing the new Wonder Woman and will first appear in Batman Vs. Superman out March 25, 2016.

AMC continues moving forward with the highly anticipated spinoff series of The Walking Dead as recent news sees Oscar-award winning director Adam Davidson tapped to direct the pilot.
Davidson won an Oscar for his 1991 short film, The Lunch Date, and is also known for Community, Fringe, True Blood, Dexter, Deadwood, Lost and Hell on Wheels.
Not many specifics are known about The Walking Dead spinoff, just some generalizations.
Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead, recently spoke with IGN offering the spinoff isn't all that much different than the current series.
There’s no end of huge differences that are going to set this apart from the original show. I can’t get into specifics right now.
What is known about The Walking Dead spinoff is that the series will not be set in Georgia (where the current series takes place); it will feature original characters and plots (meaning nothing from Kirkman's comic book), and it's been rumored that it may be a prequel of sorts possibly set when the zombie apocalypse first occurs or directly prior to it (maybe both).
Character descriptions also hit the net mentioning the Cabrera's, the Tompkins' and a Chapman.

The latest Marvel Comics teaser happens to feature the Maestro and Future Imperfect.
The teasers continue for week #3, with some assuming it's all related to the big Secret Wars event that is in the works for a year long series.
Regarding Future Imperfect, it was a story published in the 90s from Peter David and George Perez that saw the smart Banner Hulk flung into the future to stop his future self, the Maestro. Definitely a great story and recommended reading even if you are not a big Hulk fan.
