So what did we think of J.J. Abrams' "big" Star Trek 2 teaser that was revealed on Conan O'Brien?

I received a text from the "DOC" Chris Bushley about Abrams appearing with news that Star Trek 2 footage was going to debut.

I set the DVR and immediately thought of Karl Urban's "exclusive" comic-con footage, which turned out to be a joke.

So as Abrams began setting up the footage for Conan, it came to no surprise by what we got - which was not much.

Seems Trekkies' reactions to the teaser have not been that good as well, as the lack of much of anything has caused the Trek universe to put their phasers on "kill," - which has been noticed by Star Trek writer Bob Orci.

Orci frequents TrekMovie.com and in the comments for their Conan O'Brien footage write-up, Bob Orci responds to a fan's complaint about the lack of promotion.

I guess you will have to show me the marketing handbook you are using to question our schedule. Appreciate that you wanna see things ASAP. Delayed gratification is not a strong characteristic of some folks. I get it. All I can say is:

relax. the movie is gonna melt your face right off. Your eyeballs are going to bleed. And you’ll thank us;)

Sound good?

Star Trek Into Darkness has a May 17th, 2013 release date in 3D, is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine as Capt. James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Leonard "Bones" McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu and Benedict Cumberbatch as an unnamed villain.
