Though it has been reported that the sequel to Prometheus was in trouble due to Damon Lindelof's depature, the movie still appears to be moving forward with newcomer Jack Paglen, the writer behind Transcendence, the Wally Pfister movie set to star Johnny Depp.
TheWrap reports Paglen has been rumored to be taking on the gig for sometime and is now said to be in negotiations, which are near complete, with Ridley Scott apparently signing off on whatever take Paglen came up with.
The plot or even the direction for "Prometheus 2" is unknown, but previous reports stated that both Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace are set to return.
Ridley Scott's Prometheus brought in over $400 million on a $100 million budget, which is why it's thought the sequel was green lit as audiences were mostly disappointed with the Alien prequel.
