"Pirates of the Caribbean 5" is in development as Disney has chosen to shoot the movie in Puerto Rico.

The Caribbean Business (via FilmStage) reports that Disney has picked Puerto Rico over Hawaii, citing Puerto Rico Film Commission Executive Director Mariella Pérez.

"Disney just confirmed that they have picked Puerto Rico over Hawaii," Perez stated in regards to filming "Pirates of the Caribbean 5."

The billion dollar Pirates of the Caribbean franchise shot in Puerto Rico two years ago with scenes from "On Stranger Tides." Reportedly, Disney was pleased with the location, and in addition to Puerto Rico's vast incentives, chose Puerto Rico as the location to film the fifth movie.

The Caribbean Business says that filming on "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" is expected to begin in November, with Johnny Depp reprising as Captain Jack Sparrows. It's said that Johnny Depp will be getting a hefty pay raise to the tune of a whopping $95 million.

A director and title have not been named yet, but the script for "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" is being written by Terry Rosio, writer on all the previous Pirates movies.
