No Fin For Yondu In Guardians of the Galaxy Says Michael Rooker

Guardians of the Galaxy Michael Rooker set images revealed the blue skin of Yondu, but noticeably absent was the trademark fin of the character.
Some comic books fans speculated the fin might be added through CGI later in post-production, but now it's learned that the fin will not be a part of the character in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
In a recent Unrendered podcast, Micheal Rooker let the news be known.
"As you can see from some of the photos out there, I’m not in a loincloth. I don’t have a major, major fin thing that goes down my back," Rooker said. "We haven’t visually gone with the way that Yondu was in the comics."
While some fans may ask why bother even using the character if it's going to be such a drastic change, perhaps we'll find out more come this August. Rooker's Yondu seems more like a space pirate while Yondu in the comic books was a founding member of the future-version and original Guardians of the Galaxy. He joined forces with Vance Astro after his planet was attacked by the Badoon.
Rooker also described the movie similar to what a producer described Guardians of the Galaxy as being ("bright, colorful and pulpy").
"Lovely, beautiful colors," Rooker said.
Guardians of the Galaxy has an August 1, 2014 release in the U.S.
