Thanks in part to Marvel, Captain America 2 and the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Disney has seen its third-quarter profits soar.

Disney CEO Bob Iger spoke with CNBC in the following video (via NY Times) discussing how well Marvel has performed for them, and how Disney will keep performing up to par.

Iger mentions movies like Frozen and Maleficient, but also mentions that the Marvel Brand has arrived as evidenced by Guardians of the Galaxy, which he notes was a good movie, but also feels Disney's promotion of the movie was a major factor in its success. Captain America 2 also brought in $713.6 million worldwide since April.

Regarding the question of how Disney will sustain the success, Iger mentions to look ahead to The Avengers 2, Ant-Man, Captain America 3, the newly-announced Guardians of the Galaxy sequelStar Wars: Episode VII is another factor to consider as well as the Pixar movies.

Iger also clears up the rumors surrounding the Star Wars accident involving Harrison Ford as he confirms the injury was a broken ankle. Iger also states production is underway on Star Wars: Episode VII, and that the footage they have seen is "very, very exciting."
