When Warner Bros. moved the release date back for Batman Vs. Superman to May 6, 2016, it was also occupied by a then unannounced Marvel Studios movie.
There has been back-and-forth talk from both DC and Marvel about changing the release date, with WB stating they aren't going to, and Marvel at times seeming to indicate they may.
The latest has Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige stating they aren't backing down Captain America 3 from Batman Vs. Superman.
Empire Online questioned Kevin Feige about it, with Feige stating he is all for making good comic book movies, but he isn't too thrilled about two of them premiering on the same day.
So I continue to be all for quality entertainment for moviegoers to enjoy on weekends. If it is on the same weekend I enjoy it slightly less. But we are doing what we’ve always done, which is sticking to our plan and sticking to our vision for the movies going forward and we have a very large vision that we’re working on for Cap 3 and for all the threes movies and just because another movie plops down onto one of ours doesn’t mean we are going to alter that. Maybe we should, but we’re not going to.
