The first Star Trek Into Darkness footage from J.J. Abrams is due out in a couple weeks attached to The Hobbit, all nine minutes of it.
While Abrams only has one Star Trek film under his belt, the first Captain Kirk, William Shatner, shares a few thoughts and opinions about it.
Shatner informs the Post-Gazette that we most likely will not be seeing him in Stark Trek Into Darkness as he jokes, "I have to do some face work before I apply."
Shanter also mentions that he thinks the J.J. Abrams Star Trek reboot is wonderful and a great ride, but doesn't measure up to his own Star Trek films.
"I think it's wonderful. It's a great ride, a great opening up of Star Trek to modern audiences," Shatner says. "It doesn't have the story heart that the best of my Star Trek had, but it's a glorious motion picture."
Star Trek Into Darkness has a May 17th, 2013 release date in 3D, is directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Chris Pine as Capt. James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Karl Urban as Leonard "Bones" McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Nyota Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty, Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov, John Cho as Hikaru Sulu and Benedict Cumberbatch as an unnamed villain.
