James Gunn Hints At DnA Guardians Of the Galaxy Costumes Not McNiven's?

Two years ago the series was penned by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, collectively known as DnA, and drawn by the likes of fan-favorite artists Paul Pelletier, Wes Craig and Brad Walker.
For some reason or another Marvel Comics decided to put the series on hiatus and relaunch under Brian Michael Bendis and Steve McNiven.
However, a clue as to what may have happened came at the recent San Diego Comic-Con when a Guardians of the Galaxy movie was announced revealing concept art.
Recently, new artist Steve McNiven revealed that he is giving the Guardians of the Galaxy's costumes a complete overhaul and lambasted their old look as well.
Now, what's interesting about the movie art -- is that it seemingly borrows heavily from the DnA Guardians of the Galaxy comic book.
McNiven's new designs feature all sorts of high-tech equipment with Tony Stark arc-reactors throughout, which is a much different take than the DnA designed rag-tag Guardians costumes Marvel Cosmic fans have come to all know and love.
Well, Gunn "favorited" the tweet.
While we may not know Gunn's exact thoughts on the subject, we'll eventually find out soon enough.
The Guardians of the Galaxy movie has an August 1, 2014 release date and is directed by James Gunn.
