Not too long ago it was rumored that the new Superman, Henry Cavill, was going to co-star along side the once-Batman, Armie Hammer, in Man From U.N.C.L.E. after Tom Cruised bowed out.
Now in an interview with USA Today, Henry Cavill has confirmed his involvement.
Here's the excerpt:
To that end, Cavill just signed on to star as a spy in Guy Ritchie's adaptation of The Man From U.N.C.L.E., replacing Tom Cruise, who is no longer associated with the project. He is tight-lipped about his Napoleon Solo role except to say he'll be alongside The Lone Ranger star Armie Hammer, who will play Illya Kuryakin.
"Things are full-steam ahead. It's all very early days. But it's gonna happen," Cavill says before pausing. "Well, this is Hollywood. It's supposed to happen."
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. has Guy Ritchie attached to direct with no release date as of yet.
Henry Cavill is signed on for a three picture deal with Warner Bros. for Superman with more to become known after the Man of Steel debuts June 14th.
Armie Hammer was set to play Batman in the defunct 2008 Justice League movie.
