With three new image stills landing online for Guardians of the Galaxy from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, it's learned that the movie will connect to The Avengers 3.

The article has director James Gunn describing the characters from the movie, in which he adds that Guardians of the Galaxy will "definitely be connected to Avengers 3."

We're speculating that the connection might be Thanos as we confirmed that Thanos would be present in Guardians of the Galaxy from Thanos creator Jim Starlin, who at the time also mentioned the Mad Titan will be in The Avengers 2, with the appearance possibly really meant for The Avengers 3 (or both).

Gunn also offered that motion-capture would be used for Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy, and that he is the "head of the snake." We know that Thanos is Ronan and Nebula's boss, and at one time Gamora's as well.

Gunn actually touched upon the Gamora and Nebula relationship, which we first learned about in a Marvel Comics movie tie-in comic book.

"Thanos slaughtered her family and Nebula's, then raised them together as siblings. They were bio-engineered to become living weapons. So she's really good at killing people," Gunn said about Gamora.

Other tidbits mentioned in the article include that Drax's wife and son were killed by Ronan, and now Drax seeks revenge.

Gunn also drops a hints as to the affiliation of Yondu, played by Michael Rooker, as well as Star-Lord's origins.

"[Star-Lord is] raised in a group of thieves and smugglers called the Ravagers. He's good with the ladies and a little bit of a dick and very lucky," Gunn said.

A previous article mentioned that Yondu raises the young Star-Lord.

James Gunn released the following high-res image that is featured in the magazine:
