Last minute script changes by Marvel Studios is being blamed for the departure of Edgar Wright from the Ant-Man movie.

In their report on the parting of ways between Wright and Marvel, THR also suggests the July 2015 release date for Ant-Man might be in jeopardy as well. It's said Ant-Man was supposed to start production on June 2nd, but Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige has ordered a hiatus while a new director is being found.

It's also stated that Ant-Man under Wright was considered too "quirky," and that with Guardians of the Galaxy already being different than a typical Marvel movie, it's suggested that Kevin Feige and Marvel didn't want to take further risks.

It's said that Feige ordered script edits on Ant-Man that happened without Wright's knowledge or consent. Reportedly when Wright received the changes, he was none too happy and left the project.

Marvel released a statement stating the departure was due to creative differences, which is at least the second time a director and Marvel have parted ways as Patty Jenkins was supposed to helm Thor 2, but left over reported creative differences as well.

It's also reported the departure of Wright has not affected casting with Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas still attached.
