Back last September, Shane Black offered some details about the Doc Savage movie offering that he would like Chris Hemsworth to play the role.
Now it's learned that Black and Hemsworth have talked.
THR reports that Shane Black is actively developing the movie, which is an adaptation on the 1930s pulp hero, for Sony. It's stated Black recently met with Chris Hemsworth for the role of Doc Savage, and goes on to state it's unclear when the movie would start production as there are apparent budget issues. It is noted that Doc Savage is considered one of Sony's priorities.
Previously, Shane Black mentioned that Doc Savage is essentially Superman, as the character came before Superman, is named Clark and even has his own Fortress of Solitude. Black stated they have kept the movie set in the 1930s, and Doc Savage would show how it would affect and scar someone to be raised as a perfect person. Black also mentioned the Doc Savage movie would also be true in a way to the original, but introducing a whole new brand of people to this would a challenge as the character has been around for 75 years.
It also recently became known that Shane Black is involved in the Predator reboot.
