At this past Summer's Comic-Con fans learned the news of Batman Vs. Superman through the use of a quote from Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel which featured a fight between The Dark Knight and The Last Son Of Krypton.
Following that, a rumor hit that Zack Snyder had brought Frank Miller onboard Batman Vs. Superman as a consultant.
For those that read the comic, you know that there are some differences between the Henry Cavill Superman and the Man of Steel from The Dark Knight Returns as well as an age difference between Ben Affleck and the Batman from the story.
Zack Snyder and Kevin Smith recently held a Man of Steel Blu-Ray QnA where following the event they talked Batman Vs. Superman with DC All Access.
Both Smith and Snyder note Batman Vs. Superman is not going to be a direct adaptation of Miller's The Dark Knight Returns.
"I don't want to see in this movie, and I don't think Zack is trying to do, Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns," Kevin Smith offered. "That will deserve its own movie. God willing, he is going to do it."
"Absolutely," agreed Snyder. "If you were going to do that you would need a different Superman. We are bringing Batman into the universe that now this Superman lives in."
"Batman Vs. Superman" has a July 17, 2015 release starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
