Amazing Spider-Man 2 Gets A "Gnarly" New Costume Says Marc Webb

It was previously put forth that Andrew Garfield would be getting a new costume in the Amazing Spider-Man 2 as it makes sense seeing how his costume was basically destroyed in his battle against the Lizard.

It was also said that the new Spider-Man costume would be one more in tune with his comic book counterpart, leading to speculation that it could be the new Superior Spider-Man red and black outfit (pictured right).

Recently, Amazing Spider-Man 2 director Marc Webb took part in a "Target Twitter Chat" for the movie and answered a fan's question on using a new costume. 

Marc Webb didn't give many details, but offered:

Bigger eyes. Gnarly web shooters.

Regarding "gnarly web shooters," the Superior Spider-Man version actually sports claws.

Marc Webb also addressed new Mary Jane, Shailene Woodley, confirming the actress as part of the cast.

YES! She's the jam - love her, look forward to working with her in ASM2.

The "Amazing Spider-Man 2" swings into theaters May 2nd, 2014 directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Shailene Woodley.
