Andrew Garfield Wants To Play Spider-Man In Avengers 2

1733 While many were speculating that we might be getting an Andrew Garfield cameo in The Avengers movie, which we are not afraid to say we had a hand in, we of course now know that not to be true.

However, that doesn't mean we will not see Spider-Man in The Avengers 2!

Even though Sony does hold the film rights to Spider-Man, it's not really that much of a stretch to think Spidey could appear in The Avengers sequel, as Spider-Man is an Avenger in the Marvel Comics, and Disney does hold the merchandising rights to Spider-Man.

So, obviously the relationship between Sony and Mavel Studios is a good one.

And recently, Andrew Garfield let it be known that if he got the call — Spider-Man would assemble!

Check out a QnA with Vulture and Andrew Garfield:

Have you seen The Avengers? If Sony would let you assemble, would you? After all, Spidey eventually becomes a member of the team in the comics ...

I saw it, and I was blown away. And I'm going to see it again this weekend. I have no problem adding to the amount of money it's making! [Laughs.] Joss Whedon is a genius, and it's an incredible cast. I was very, very jealous, and I wanted to jump on the screen and play with them. It killed me that I wasn't in it, but I understand why, and I'm not insulted. But hey, if Samuel L. Jackson wants to give me a shout, I'm there for the next one!

The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters July 3rd, 2012 in 3-D and is directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, Irrfan Khan as Nels Van Adder, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Sally Field as May Parker and C. Thomas Howell as Ray Cooper.

Will Nathan Fillion Play Star-Lord? With Joss Whedon Directing Guardians of the Galaxy Movie?!

Nathan Fillion has been the long time choice among fans to play Ant-Man.

And with a possible Ant-Man movie on the horizon, we get word from the actor currently starring in ABC's Castle about playing the tiny role.

At the recent HeroComplex Film Festival a screening of Serenity was held, which was directed by The Avengers helmer Joss Whedon, and Fillion was asked about playing Ant-Man (Via FirstShowing).

Someone asked if he wants to play Ant-Man in Edgar Wright's upcoming Marvel film, and he shrugged and said, "did you ever just love Ant-Man? Not me."

Now I Can't say I disagree with Fillion's feelings about Ant-Man, but Fillion also stated he's not interested in anything with a Wonder Woman movie, but would be with a film adaptation of the popular Uncharted video game.

However, in keeping with Marvel Studios, Nathan Fillion would be the obvious choice to play Star-Lord, Peter Quill, in the Guardians of the Galaxy Movie as Star-Lord is Marvel's Han Solo — a similar character Fillion played in Whedon's Firefly (which Serenity spun off).

Going one step further, Joss Whedon said he is unsure if he wants to direct The Avengers sequel; however, seeing how Whedon included Thanos in the post-credit scene, which the Mad Titan is said to be next seen in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie — how about a Joss Whedon directed Guardians of the Galaxy movie? In addition, Whedon said he is a big fan of the Marvel Cosmic stories with Thanos and Adam Warlock.

While just speculation on my part, having the director of the most popular movie off all time on a relative unknown like Guardians of the Galaxy might help just a tad bit. Don't you think? Of course re-united with Fillion isn't too bad, either. Adam Baldwin as Drax, anyone?

Forget Ant-Man, Nathan Fillion is the obvious choice to play Star-Lord, Peter Quill!

The Dark Knight Rises (2012): Reason Behind Bane's Mask Revealed

The enigma behind the mask of Bane is finally revealed in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.

The latest issue of Rolling Stone has a feature on the final Batman movie which includes an image of Tom Hardy as Bane, with information on the look of Bane.

Nolan tells Rolling Stone that the reason Bane wears a mask is to administer a dose of anesthesia. Turns out Bane suffered from some sort of trauma long ago and now he wears the mask to be able to function.

Interesting take.

In the comics Bane uses the drug Venom to jack himself up physically.

Iron Man 3 (2013): James Badge Dale Cast as Eric “Coldblood” Savin

1715 With production underway on Iron Man 3, we have another cast member added.

James Badge Dale (Lone Ranger, World War Z, The Grey) has been cast as Eric Savin, aka Coldblood in the comics according to Variety.

It is unknown how close the movie will follow the comic book version, as Eric Savin, a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army in charge of Project: Ultra-Tech, stepped on a mine and was blown to bits only to be put back together in the form of the cyborgColdblood!

I'm not familiar with the character and unsure if Coldblood ever went toe-to-toe with Iron Man, but his powers seem to make him a formidable opponent for Iron Man as Coldblood can interface with any computer system. Actually, this could make Coldblood a valuable asset for Tony Stark as Iron Man 3 is said to deal with Warren Ellis' "Extremis" arc from the comics. A Deathlok Easter Egg would be a nice touch for the movie, as Coldblood has battled that fellow cyborg before in the comics as well.
